April 6, 2025 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART
Pastor Immanuel Garcera
Serving Undeterred
This April, let’s turn our hearts and minds to a new sermon series that can be both challenging yet transformative. Philippians 1:29, our theme verse states, "For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him." Initially, this verse might seem daunting. In a world that prioritizes comfort and ease, especially now that we’re saved -- the idea of suffering for Christ's sake can feel unusual. Yet, the Apostle Paul, writing from a prison cell, reveals this deep spiritual reality: suffering, when embraced in Christ, becomes a powerful way for spiritual growth and a testimony to faith found only in God.
This month, we'll explore what it means to "serve like Jesus, undeterred even in the midst of suffering." We'll delve into what it means to lay down comfort for the sake of the Gospel. We'll examine how suffering is expected in our lives as believers, but when viewed through the lens of Christ's sacrifice, can refine our character, lead even to rejoicing, and ultimately, draw us closer to God and His mission.
Church, this isn’t just a bunch of sermons to think about. As Paul called the Philippians, and calls us now, to action -- how can we, in our daily lives, embody this truth? How can we serve with dedication, even when faced with hardships or opposition?
CEAC let us, this April, journey together towards Holy Week, as we seek to not only believe, but be willing to suffer for Jesus’ sake. Let's embrace that call, knowing that our service, even in the midst of suffering, glorifies God and testifies to His transforming love.
To God be the glory!
