Serve the Lord from Generation to Generation

Psalms 79:13 (NIV)

13 Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture

will praise you forever

from generation to generation

we will proclaim your praise

Our 2025 Family Camp theme verse invites and challenges us to consider the weight of what it means to serve the Lord from generation to generation, namely;

  1. We are "only" to serve the LORD.

If truly we call ourselves as God's people, the sheep of His pasture, then we must serve and praise Him only, He deserves our absolute, exclusive and unwavering reverence, evident both in our corporate gatherings and in our personal faith-journey. We praise and serve the God who said...

Isaiah 42:8 ESV

I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

  "He is not one of many; he is not superior among inferior gods; he is not even the

  best of all; he is the only God,..." (ESVSB)

2. We are to "serve" Him from generation to generation.

We must  serve and praise Him, not just in this present generation but for the generations to come. We are to nourish, nurture, care, equip and disciple the next generation of Jesus' followers while not ignoring our equally important responsibilities to the present generation, both the young (now) and the older generation as well.

I and my wife sometimes wonder on how much have we impacted our children, Yohan and Yasmin, in following Jesus. Have we exemplified what serving God means to them?  Acknowledging our shortcomings and limitations, all that we can say is this, it is only by God's grace that we can continue to live for Christ and to continue  to impact our children's lives so that they can do the same to their future children and their children's children.

CEAC, let us all help and prepare the "now" generation to live for Christ and to impact lives, both in their generation and the generations to come.
