June 21, 2026 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART

Cheryl Zamora

In the story of Samson’s birth, we meet Manoah — a father who gives us one of the simplest and strongest prayers in Scripture: “Lord, teach us what to do with the boy who is to be born.”

Manoah doesn’t ask and prayed for success, strength, or ease. He asks and prayed for guidance.

This Father’s Day, may Manoah’s example remind our fathers that the strength of a father is not found in certainty, but in seeking God. Manoah models at least three timeless truths: 1) A father’s greatest strength is not knowing everything — it’s seeking God. 2) A father’s first responsibility is spiritual leadership, starting with prayer. 3) A father’s deepest act of faith is entrusting his child’s future to the Lord.

God answered Manoah. He still answers fathers today.

May fathers ask the Lord to teach them how to guide the children God has entrusted to them. We pray to our Heavenly Father to give every father, wisdom, humility, and a heart that seeks Him first.
