August 9, 2026 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART
Pastor Immanuel Garcera
How would you describe the well-being of your soul? As much as we take care of our physical well-being, with check-ups, bloodwork, physical exercise -- as we started our new sermon series for August, “Well-Being of the Soul”, it’s important to note that God cares for our inner being as well.
Pastor Tim will be speaking on this topic, and something the Bible says along those lines is found in Psalm 23:1-3:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul."
In this passage, David paints a picture of what it means to be well as a whole. We read that God as our shepherd doesn’t just take care of what's outside, but He also intentionally brings healing to our soul.
In a culture that glorifies constant activity to the point of burnout, it’s easy for us to neglect the quiet times and spaces God draws us to for restoration. When we follow our Shepherd and enter into His care, it transforms us -- it changes the way we engage our work, our schooling, and the very demanding tasks we face in life. Before we come and worship this Sunday, let’s be in a posture open to the leading of our Good Shepherd to be restored, especially if we’re running on empty.
To God be the glory!
