November 8, 2026 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART
Ptr. Immanuel Garcera
It’s Remembrance Sunday and during this time, we reflect on the sacrifice of those who have gone before us. Oftentimes, the events of the past -- as much as they are important as they shape our future, they are also often forgotten. That’s why we have days like today.
Today, in our sermon we are looking into the importance of remembering the deeds of the Lord, and a sister passage for our sermon verse today is Romans 10:14-17. Referring to the Gospel, the Apostle Paul asks a chain of questions, “How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” In regards to faith, it’s not something that happens by accident -- someone had to tell us. Whether it was a missionary, a Sunday school teacher, a parent, a friend, an elder, God uses people to open our eyes to our need of Him.
So then, as believers, we all have a sacred responsibility to leave a spiritual legacy behind -- if not to our own biological children but to the spiritual children in our lives. The next generation can’t place their faith on the Saviour they haven’t heard of, they also need reminding. “Faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ” -- as we remember the past, let’s also look to the future, let’s pray for boldness to speak His mighty deeds for our children (biological or spiritual), and for all to hear.
To God be the glory!
