Time for Action!

Church! Congrats on reaching Week 4 of the 40-Day Serving Challenge! This week, we move from contemplation to another core principle of our faith: Action. I hope and pray that the daily devotionals have been engaging our hearts and minds, preparing us to serve! But let’s be reminded that our faith is not a spectator sport; it’s a commitment to active love and service, our faith demands action.

As our ultimate example, Jesus Christ -- He didn't merely teach about love; He acted it out. His ministry was continuous, hands-on, engaged with those around Him -- healing, teaching, feeding, and ultimately, sacrificing Himself. His life was the definition of purposeful action. He calls us to a similar life as He said to, "follow me."

The Apostle James drives this point: "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead" (James 2:17). A faith that doesn’t impact those around it, never expressing itself in action, is lacking. So, how will we put our faith into action this week? It doesn't require a complete life change; it simply requires intentionality. Perhaps it’s setting aside time to pray for someone you know is struggling, reaching out to a neighbor, or simply offering a compliment. Every act of service, no matter how small, becomes a tangible demonstration of Christ's love flowing through us.

Don't let the momentum stop. Keep reading, if you fall behind, get back on it! And more importantly, ask God to lead you -- today, where you can take action and serve. Let's make this the week when our faith truly comes alive through action.
