February 15, 2026 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART
Pastor Immanuel Garcera
Welcome to Valentine's long weekend (because it is Family Day on Monday, Feb. 16)! February is most often dubbed the love-month. Yet, as believers, a month of love might hit a sore spot in some. Love is not always a nice sentiment -- sometimes it’s a hard trudging that we need to press on in. This is especially true when we encounter people who test our patience, that could even hinder us, or make us stumble all together in this race God has called us to!
When we face challenges like these, we often rely on ourselves to “try harder”, but Paul in 1 Thessalonians 3:12 states to the church in Thessalonica, “may the Lord make you increase and abound in love”. Paul’s prayer reveals to us that increasing in our love is something God enables. Much like the patriarchs who we’re exploring in our current pulpit series, they ventured into the unknown not because of bravery, but because they placed their trust in the God who promised them a better future.
Church, for us today, as we’re reminded of the EGR people (Extra Grace Required), who require us to be more loving, may I gently remind you not to rely on ourselves to grow in our love, because we have a God that helps us in these matters. In obedience, just like the patriarchs of the Old, let’s put our trust in the Lord that He will be true to His promises, to make us love like He does -- increase and abound in love when we run low. And friends, His supply is infinite.
To God be the glory!
