April 26, 2026 - INSCRIPTIONS FROM THE HEART

Cheryl Zamora

There’s a quiet strength that rises in us when we choose to look steadily at Jesus instead of glancing back at what once was. The past has a way of calling our name—old failures, old comforts, old identities—but none of them hold the life He offers. When Peter stepped out of the boat, he walked on water as long as his gaze stayed locked on Christ. The moment he looked away, the waves won.

The same is true for us. Jesus doesn’t ask us to pretend the past never happened; He simply invites us not to live there. He stands ahead of us—steady, unchanging, full of grace—calling us into what He’s shaping next. Every step forward becomes an act of trust, a declaration that His promise is stronger than our history.

So today, lift your eyes. Fix them on the One who leads you, loves you, and walks with you. Let the past stay behind you, and let Jesus set the direction of your heart.

A simple prayer: Jesus, help me keep my eyes on You. Give me courage to move forward and faith to leave behind anything that holds me back. Amen.
